Casper College Education Award

Applications due: March 1, 2025

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Wyoming Education Award for Casper College - Scholarship

High School seniors who have been involved with the Club in some way (sports, summer program, homeschool P.E., after-school program, etc.) are eligible to apply for a one-time Education Award of up to $3,000 to be credited to the student’s Casper College account. Applicants must be graduating seniors and/or planning to enroll at Casper College. Essays for the 2023 application year must be postmarked or sent electronically by March 1, 2025.

Application Process:

  1. Select students and have them fill out the application form. Students must be graduating seniors and/or planning to enroll at Casper College.
  2. Inform Boys & Girls Clubs that you are participating by emailing Sherman Hill at shill@bgccw.org or by calling (307) 473-5553.
  3. Have students write the three essays included in the packet.
  4. Once the essays are complete, email or mail the nomination forms and the essays to the Main Club (address information in application form) *NOTE: MUST BE POSTMARKED OR SENT ELECTRONICALLY BY APRIL 15, 2025.
  5. Judges will select finalists to be interviewed to determine the awardee.
  6. The winner will be announced by May 1, 2025.

  • Completed Application Form (linked above for download and print)
  • Completed Essay #1: Moral Character:
    • Describe your adherence to high moral standards. This includes positive peer interaction, community service, and involvement in extracurricular activities.
  • Completed Essay #2: School and Career Goals
    • In this essay, explain your scholastic achievement, contributions made to school, and the extracurricular activities in which you have participated. Candidates should also detail post-high school education plans and why they are important. Life goals should become apparent by writing this essay.
  • Completed Essay #3: Boys & Girls Club Involvement
    • How have you been involved with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Wyoming?  Please describe your involvement as a member, volunteer, or other.

Great Futures Gold Standard Scholarship

Applications due: March 15, 2025

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Wyoming Education Award for Casper College - Scholarship

A competitive scholarship for one Wyoming Boys & Girls Club member to receive a one-time $5,000 stipend for Housing & Food at the University of Wyoming. Scholarship selection will be based completion of this application, academic merit, and financial need as demonstrated by FAFSA. A student must meet minimum admissions requirements, apply and be accepted for admissions by scholarship deadline.

Requirements:

Candidates must be Wyoming residents who intend to enroll full-time at UW and meet one of the following criteria:

  • Current Wyoming high school senior OR
  • Wyoming community college transfer with an Associate’s Degree by August 1

 

Candidates must have a minimum of two years or more membership and involvement with their local Boys & Girls Club. The UW Selection Committee will require the Boys & Girls Club Chief Executive Officer to verify involvement.

The combination of the Great Futures Gold Standard Scholarship Award (GFGS), federal financial aid plus other scholarships (including inside or outside of UW) cannot exceed the cost of attendance for the academic year as determined by the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid.

The award is restricted to University of Wyoming Room & Board. To receive payment recipients must be living in university housing.

Application Process:

  • Respond to ONE of the following questions with as much thought and clarity as possible. Essays are to be no more than 500 words and will be judged based on content, writing style, clarity and grammar. You are encouraged to work with staff members at your club to develop a well-written, compelling essay.
    • Why do you want to attend the University of Wyoming?
    • How do you plan to give back to your Boys & Girls Club after graduating from UW?
  • Provide the name and contact information for a Club Chief Professional/Executive Officer, to acknowledge your application for the Great Futures Gold Standard Scholarship Award.

Foundation Education Award

Applications due: March 15, 2025

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Wyoming Education Award for Casper College - Scholarship

High School seniors who have been involved with the Club in some way (sports, summer program, homeschool P.E., after-school program, etc.) are eligible to apply for a one-time Foundation Education Award of up to $2,000. The Education Award will be credited to the learning institution of the student’s choice. Essays for the 2023 application year must be postmarked or sent electronically by March 15, 2025.

Application Process:

  1. Select students and have them fill out the application form. Students must be graduating seniors and planning to enroll at the higher learning institution of their choice.
  2. Inform the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Wyoming that you are participating by emailing or calling your Club director (contact information in application form by Club site)
  3. Have students write the two essays included in the packet.
  4. Once the essays are complete, email or mail the nomination forms and the essays to your Club (address information in application form by Club site) *NOTE: MUST BE POSTMARKED OR SENT ELECTRONICALLY BY MARCH 15, 2025
  5. Local judges will select finalists and the top applicants will be interviewed to decide the awardee(s).
  6. Those selected will be notified between April 15 and May 15, 2025.

    • What are your laws of life, and how have they influenced you?  How will your laws of life guide you in furthering your education, and reaching your career goal?

    • How have you been involved with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Wyoming?  Please describe your involvement as a member, volunteer, or other.
