Full-Time Tech Center Coordinator

About the Role:
The Tech Center Coordinator will oversee daily operations in our Tech Center, guiding youth ages 5–18 through engaging, educational, and age-appropriate technology-based programs. This is more than just managing screen time. You’ll be a mentor, a teacher, and an innovator, encouraging members to explore technology through activities like coding, digital research, creative media, virtual exploration, and more.

Essential Duties:

  • Supervise and ensure the safety and engagement of all youth in the Tech Center.
  • Develop and facilitate interactive programs focused on digital citizenship, responsible technology use, and tech literacy.
  • Provide instruction in basic and advanced computer skills, including internet safety, research, coding, and digital content creation.
  • Manage and maintain the Tech Center’s hardware and software, including VR stations and desktop computers.
  • Inspire youth to explore careers and interests in technology through hands-on experiences and mentorship.
  • Work with the Branch Director to build a calendar of innovative and educational tech-based programming.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful environment where all members feel empowered to learn and explore.

Qualifications:

  • Passion for youth development and a belief in the positive power of technology.
  • Experience working with children or teens in educational or recreational settings.
  • Working knowledge of computer systems, internet safety, and/or digital creation tools.
  • Strong communication and group management skills.
  • Creativity, patience, and a proactive, mission-driven mindset.
  • Ability to adapt content for youth ages 5 to 18.
  • Preferred: experience in education, computer science, IT, or related field.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required); college coursework in education, recreation, or youth development (preferred).
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Must pass background check and pre-employment drug screen.

Wage: $15-$19 per hour DOE. Full-time, benefited position.
