Carol Ruby is a beloved lifelong educator who has spread the melody of love and will be honored at the Boys & Girls Club of the Bighorns Breakfast on November 2. In her 45 years as a first-grade teacher, Carol Ruby has enriched education and provided a firm foundation for generations of students in Johnson County.
Carol tirelessly and compassionately helped children to be successful in school, often using her love for music to create melodies to aid memorization. Carol and her husband, Jerry, trained children in performing arts through a musical program they developed, and she has directed children’s choirs. As a vocalist, Carol traveled to several states around the country, singing and sharing inspirational words of faith. She has also served as a 4H leader, teaching sewing and cooking. While she is now retired, Carol continues to volunteer to help children in the classroom.
Married for 37 years, Carol and her husband have four children and 16 grandchildren. As a teacher, she loved giving her students hugs each day; now, she enjoys receiving hugs from her former students when they see her around town.
